Drink to Your Health – Delicious Juices, Teas, Soups, and Smoothies that help you look and feel great by Anne McIntyre is an interesting resource for the healthy drinking “aficionado.”
Have you ever thought about the healing power of liquids? DRINK TO YOUR HEALTH gives you a good introduction to various drinks from around the world. Infused with exotic names and enticing photographs to lure anyone from the novice to the experienced “juice junkie,” “smoothie mixer,” “tea taster,” or “soup sipper.” The book is broken down into 4 sections starting with key ingredients, to drinks that can help heal the soul and spirit. You can easily find yourself spending countless hours taste testing the various combinations and concoctions.
The author, Anne McIntyre did a good job of giving the reader a brief history of liquids, such as water, coffee, juices, milk drinks and soups. Each section is very easy to navigate through. I found this book to be very helpful in suggestions to help alleviate certain ailments. So, if you want to learn more the drinks are categorized by ailments, food allergies or intolerances – some of the ailments discussed are sinusitis, diverticulitis, healthy hair, constipation, anemia, arthritis, and blood pressure, to name a few.
**Speaking of healing your body and soul, there is a documentary/movie “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” by Joe Cross. It is well worth checking out.
Let’s BOND over BOOKS rates DRINK TO YOUR HEALTH as MELODICALLY MEANINGFUL (151-300 pgs)…just the right mixture of content and pages.
