The Secret

I’ve got a secret! Who doesn’t want to have the inside scoop or be a part of the “coveted” communication loop? THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne greatly enhanced the phenomenon we have come to know as “the Law of Attraction.”

So, what exactly is this “Law of Attraction” and how does it impact your life? Simply put, what happens to you (good or bad, positive or negative) you have attracted into your life. THE SECRET is that you bring into your life or draw to you people and/or experiences that are the result of your predominant thoughts. This universal principle has been talked about and practiced since the beginning of time. This has been the invisible force that has propelled people to extraordinary good fortune.

Everything starts in the mind. Every self-help book tells you about attracting what you want to help you achieve your deepest desires. Well it’s not that easy and not that simple. If such was the case we would all be rich, there would be no illnesses and we would be married to our soul mate! Have you had a question or thought about meeting someone or doing something and almost like out of the blue someone appears or shows up that is the answer to that question? Sound familiar?

Everyone has had a”aha moment” when he/she thought that there was some kind of luck involved, and probably wrote it off as “all my personal hard work and connections finally paying off!” But was that really the case?  A convincing argument can be made for those who believe and those who do not, but what should make the difference to the reader would be the various viewpoints and testimonies. An interesting point that was discussed was the words people use and way they use it. For example, if you say “no more war” what you are inviting is “more war.” If what you want is peace then say “more peace.” Another example, instead of saying “limitless” use the word “unlimited.”

What made this book different from all the others? Obviously the Law of Attraction, and collective input from various thought leaders,  such as authors, life coaches, spiritual teachers, ministers, etc. These individuals shared their experiences and insight about their opinion. Of course everybody believes in the concept, most authors don’t put those who oppose to their opinions in their book (they save it for the second book). After all has been said and done, you are the only person responsible for you. You have to act, do the work, you have got to own where you are and where you want to be.

THOUGHTS for your SOUL:

  • To attract what you want in life, you have to open up your mind to be receptive.
  • Am I really attracting this clutter, negativity and bad relationships into my life, I thought I was a pretty positive person.
  • Be intentional with your thoughts, your actions, your heart.
  • “Only when we are no longer afraid, do we begin to live in every experience, painful or joyous. To live in gratitude for every moment to live abundantly.” – Dorothy Thompson

Nothing is fool-proof.  You can stay on your knees and pray for your soul mate, think about your dream job, read every book on positive thinking,  and visualize your dream life just to open your eyes, pinch yourself and realize that nothing has changed. Seldom does anything change over night, but THE SECRET can serve as a sign post to guide you on your journey and change the trajectory of your life.

It has been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results. If what you have done or are doing has produced less than optimal results you may want to stop and try something else, something different, today. What do you have to lose? Maybe nothing, maybe everything, maybe a little, but one thing is for sure according to THE SECRET you are attracting the outcome into your life. After all the choice is all yours.

Let’s BOND over BOOKS  rates THE SECRET  as MELODICALLY MEANINGFUL (151-300 pgs.)…just the right mixture of content and pages.
